Mill Brook runs through the woods of Stoneham.  This was the first time I’ve been to Mill Brook in Stoneham, but not the first Mill Brook I’ve been to in Maine.  

Typing Mill Brook into the Google Maps search bar returned 8 brooks with that name in Maine: Eastbrook, Franklin, Penobscot, Waterford, Sullivan, Westbrook, Lovell, and Windham. Several streets and some lanes also use Mill Brook as a name. If you are into Maine trivia, how many brooks named  “Mill Brooks” there are is an interesting question to answer. 

We can have a similar discussion about other place names in Maine: Long Pond, Mud Pond, etc.
