Recently, I spent a couple of days exploring part of Maine’s Midcoast. The Maine Midcoast is, generally speaking, the area from Brunswick north to Belfast. On this little trip, I was in the Camden/Rockport area.

Autumn had arrived, with fall colors at or near peak, making almost anywhere outside a possible postcard image.

Camden Hills State Park is the perfect area for a walk in the woods, with wonderful views of the surrounding valleys and coastline. Despite the many hikers on the trails, I still found rock outcroppings with amazing views and no one else around. The perfect place to read a few pages of the book I had with me, Nine Mile Bridge by Helen Hamlin, or stare at the view while my mind wandered.

Trips like this create great memories. Good memories help us get through rough periods in our lives.
