How do you write what people actually want to read?

I’m sure in a book somewhere, perhaps at the end of the interwebs, or better yet, hidden in a hollowed out tree deep in the woods, on a scrapped of old paper written in calligraphy is the answer.

I have written many different things over the years. School papers, read by my teachers and my mom, the best reading material for them to choose from, probably not, though my mom is biased so she would say yes. Though my work I have written incident reports, evaluations and recommendations, all writings with a capture audience, but not necessarily recreational reading material. 

I have dappled in what I’ll call recreational writing, writing for the create outlet it provides me and hopefully writings others will enjoy, some of those posted on this platform. Sometimes those writings come easily, others times it is a struggle, but I keep at it. I hope people enjoy what I share.

Whatever I write, it has to be of interest to me, cause if it isn’t, unless I’m required to write it for work, I’m probably not going to write about whatever it is. My interest are vast, and shared by many. If I write about something of interest to me, or create an story around something of interest to me, and it is easily readable, someone else with that same interest, potentially will want to read it. That’s my theory, it makes sense to me, but I could be wrong.

Remember, a story can be interesting and well written, but if, for several reasons, it doesn’t reach the intended audience, no one may want to read it; still, keep writing, at least for the pleasure it brings you.
