Fog On The Pond

It is a peaceful morning as I drive down a country road. Blue and white skies above. I’m alone on the road that takes me past homes, fields, and woods. It is early enough that there is no activity.

The sun is up, but not far above the horizon yet. For a July morning, it is a bit on the cool side, but I don’t mind.

As one of the local ponds begins to come into view through the woods, I notice the fog hanging above the water, in a perfect line. The top of the fog is wild, like a rough sea, going every which way, but it provides a calming effect. I watch it as it moves across the water as if it were alive. I stop for a moment to photograph what I have come across. Then, onward, I continued the day ahead of me, with this interaction with nature giving me solitude for the remainder of my ride.
