I feel a sense of belonging near bodies of water, especially by the ocean. Beginning the day by the ocean is an amazing experience, even more so along the ragged, rockbound coast. I can easily get lost in the sounds of the crashing waves, with the seagulls and fishing boats adding to the chorus, while the wind gently touches my face.
The darkness of the predawn hours is not a time of fear; it is a time to rely more on my senses of hearing and smell as I await the approaching light of the new day. I await the light, knowing the light will be influenced by any clouds and fog, unbeknownst to me in this darkness, to create a show different than what I have seen here before. As the light slowly fills the sky, I feel a fulfillment in my mind and soul given to me by the ocean and the light.
