Leaving the house this morning, I could see the stars. I knew there was a crescent moon, but I wasn’t sure where in the sky it was or if I’d seen it. As I drove, I could see the sunlight slowly rising over the horizon, but you never know what kind of show the coming light will give you. As I approached the first of a few spots along Sebago Lake that offer a chance to catch those beams of sunlight over the lake, I decided I’d turn off the main road to ride down to the lakeshore.
On the lakeshore, there was quite a sight, the light of the new day slowly climbing with the crescent moon above. A few photos taken, happy with the opportunity to capture this moment, despite thinking the orange and yellow colors of the new day might have drowned out the moon.
Later, when I had a chance to look at the photos I had taken, there it would be, right where I had seen it: the crescent moon.
