My recent adventures brought me to Fernald’s Neck Preserve in Lincolnville.  The preserve is part of the Coastal Mountains Land Trust.  There are four trails on this 285-acre preserve, surrounded by Megunticook Lake. 

I had hopped for a hike of the Camden Hills, but a forecast of torrential rain caused me to seek a different path.  Fernald’s Neck Preserve did not disappoint.  I hiked the white and blue trails, passing by the lake in several spots and encountering various forest types along the way, definitely a place I would recommend and return to.
