On a walk through the woods earlier this year, I came upon the berries of the Hobblebush in a cool, wooded area. The berries appear after the white flowers the plant produces. As the summer season progresses, the berries will change from the red shown here to a dark purple, as one berry has as seen in this photo.
For me, berries are always a fun thing to come across while exploring. They are just different enough from the browns and the greens, the canvas, most of the woods.
