There are places waiting for us, as individuals, to discover. Places that are already on a map, but waiting for you to turn down that dirt road and stumble upon.

There are many places like this on the coast of Maine, such as Carter’s Beach in Hancock. On my visit there the tide was out, the sun had burned off most of the fog and the seabirds were singing their song. A peaceful moment with the view of Schoodic Mountain off in the distance.

I’m grateful that I have the means and the time to discover these places, for experiences like these give us the chance to slow down, reconnect with nature, and replenish our spirit.
