Jockey Cap Rock

Today’s episode of my life brought me to Jockey Cap Rock in Fryeburg.  Not my first visit, but it’s been a while since my last visit.  The parking lot and trailhead were relocated down the street since I last was here.

After a short walk through the woods, the climb begins.  New wooden stairs are being built up the western side of the rock.  On this visit, those stairs took me up most of the way; a short scramble later, and at the top, I had an awarding view.

Pleasant Mountain is off to the east, with the White Mountains to the west.  A great spot to sit, relax, and let your mind wander as you take in the views.  Not a long hike, but a good hike if you don’t have a lot of time.
