Summer along the Maine coast means seeing the Rugosa Roses. These hardy roses are native to East Asia but have spread across the Maine coastline, other coastal regions of the U.S. and Canada, and Europe.  

I saw these Rugosa Roses on a visit to Winter Harbor in Downeast Maine, but you can visit any spot along the coast in Maine if you want to see them in person.
