May 1, 2025May 12, 2025 Sunrise at Little Sebago I happened to be traveling on Route 302 when I saw the first glimpse of sunlight coming over the horizon. I quickly realized that if I took the upcoming side road, I could be on the shore of Little Sebago Lake and watch this sunrise better. I always enjoy a ride down a dirt road, and this side trip allowed for that—a double win! It was also enjoyable watching the daybreak lights cut through the large pine trees on both sides of the road. When I reached the boat ramp for Little Sebago, no one was there. Walking down to the shoreline and onto the public dock, I was even more amazed that I could not see anyone anywhere along the shore to witness this coming sunrise. The lake was as smooth as a mirror, and like a mirror, it reflected the colors above it perfectly. There is something about the sun along the horizon that draws you in to watch. It doesn’t matter if it is going up or down; it just draws you in to watch. Sunrises are special in those moments because they are shared by fewer people. I have seen many a sunrise, and I have not grown tired of seeing them.
